What's New in the MPA Program

The MPA program has a new graduate micro-credential! The Arts Administration credential was created to meet local arts organizations’ need for more professionals with knowledge and skills in critical areas. Students can begin enrolling in these classes now!

The end of the semester is right around the corner! Join us on April 28 at 7 p.m. as we recognize our newest graduates and celebrate our many program achievements over the last academic year. Zoom details will be sent to those who RSVP.
Alumni and Student Awards
Congratulations to Jennifer Steele (‘10), CEO of Meals on Wheels Southwest OH & Northern Kentucky, for winning the VUCA Leader Award from the Leadership Council for Nonprofits! This award recognizes an early-career leader in the region who is positively impacting their organization and community.
Faculty Highlights
Congratulations to Dr. Nicole Dillard for her publication in the Journal of International Women's Studies! Her article explores Critical Narrative Analysis and Critical Participatory Action Research to enable personal and counter narratives of research participants to create necessary change.

You might have seen Jeniece Jones (‘96) on the news lately. The Executive Director of Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) was interviewed by WCPO 9 about President Biden's executive order to redress discriminatory housing policies.
Student Highlights
MPA student Colton Simpson was promoted to Grant County Deputy Judge-Executive by the Grant County Fiscal Court on Jan. 19. He was appointed to the role after serving four years as the county’s tax administrator. Congratulations, Colton!
New Jobs and Promotions
  • Madison Carter (MPA 2017) was hired as a Parks Supervisor with Jefferson Memorial Forest and National Areas in Louisville.
  • Kamara Douglas (MPA 2020) is the new Civic Inclusion Manager at Women's Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
  • Malika Glover (MPA 2016) recently became an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Youngstown State.
  • Whitney Hacker (MPA 2014) is a Grant Writer for St. Vincent de Paul of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
  • Josh Hamilton (MPA student) has become the Development Coordinator at St. Vincent de Paul of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
  • Telly McGaha (MPA 2002) was recently promoted to Associate Vice President for Advancement and Development at Georgia State University.
  • Marci McNay (MPA student) was named Director of Campbell County Consolidated Dispatch Center (CCCDC).
  • Jennifer Millisor (MPA 2009) is serving as Ohio START Program Manager at the Public Children Services Association of Ohio in Columbus.
  • Danielle Ott (MPA student) became a Correspondence Examination Technician with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), supporting taxpayers, tax compliance officers, and revenue agents in the northern Kentucky region.
  • Dennia Palmer (2020) has been hired as an Emergency Preparedness Planner for the Baltimore Metropolitan Council.
  • Travis Roy (MPA 2020) is now Coordinator of Safety and Emergency Management at Northern Kentucky University.
  • Colton Simpson (MPA student) was promoted to Deputy Judge-Executive in Grant County, Kentucky.
  • Victoria Vogelgesang (MPA 2013) was appointed as Assistant Executive Director of Kentucky Campus Compact (KyCC) after serving as Director of Academic Engagement for a few years. She also recently defended her dissertation to earn a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.
