What's New in the MPA Program
The NKU Master of Public Administration program recently established a chapter of the Pi Alpha Alpha (PAA) global honor society for public administration and affairs.
The program also saw a record number of students cross the graduation stage at Fall Commencement the largest class since 2012.

MPA Events
On Saturday, January 18, the MPA program gathered to watch the NKU Men's Basketball team defeat Cleveland State. It was a perfect way to celebrate our 30th anniversary and catch up with fellow MPA students, alumni and faculty.


SAVE THE DATE: Tuesday, March 24 is the 2020 Spring Awards Banquet. We will honor Distinguished Alumnus, Mark Wendling, and student award winners. We will also induct 20 new Pi Alpha Alpha members.
Alumni and Student Awards
Congratulations to Kyle Dorriere, Tori Vogelgesang and James Catchen for developing two proposals for the NKU Innovation Challenge awards. Their two projects were granted a combined amount of over $110,000!
Faculty Highlights
Dr. Nicole Dillard is working on several research projects with students, including the exploration of identity and engagement for Women of Color leaders in public administration.
Alumni Highlights
Congratulations to Greg Kesterman ('15) for being named interim Commissioner Hamilton County Public Health (HCPC). In his new role, Greg will be focusing on preventing disease and injury, protecting the public from environmental hazards, and promoting wellness within Hamilton County. 
Student Highlights
Students in the Foundations of Public Administration class recently awarded two $1,000 grants to local nonprofit organizations. These grants will support service-learning programs in primary and secondary schools, as well as provide food to those in need in Covington and Ludlow Communities.

New Jobs and Promotions
  • Hilary Blakemore (2012) was promoted to Vice President for Development at the Oregon Symphony.
  • MPA student Nick Bliven was recently was hired as the Volunteer Services Manager for SPCA Cincinnati.
  • Amanda Donelan (MPA 2017) has started a new chapter in her career, serving as a School Resource Officer in Campbell County Schools, Kentucky.
  • MPA student Brooke Duncan was named Director of Community Development at the Uptown Consortium (Uptown Cincinnati).
  • Marsha High (MPA 2019) was selected as the new Assistant Director of Development at Northern Kentucky University.
  • Jeremy Worley (MPA 2018) started a new position with the Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation, better known as Tri-ED.
