We’re celebrating 30 years with reaccreditation, a new fall class, MPAC Conference presentations, limited edition MPA t-shirts, a new Graduate Assistant and more.

MPA Events
Master of Public Administration summer celebration
We celebrated our 30th anniversary at the MPA Fall Reception where alumni from each of the three decades shared stories about the MPA program and their experience in the public and nonprofit sectors.

SAVE THE DATES: Saturday, January 18 for an MPA suite at the NKU Men’s Basketball game against Cleveland State and Tuesday, March 24 for the MPA Spring Awards Banquet.

Congratulations to Dave Moore (MPA 2006) for being selected for the Firefighter Hero Award by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Maglite.

Dr. Kobena Osam is the lead author of a “happiness and healthiness” study recently published in the Human Resource Development Quarterly Journal.

NKU MPA student Rosie Polter was part of the inaugural class of Student Ambassadors for the Midwest Public Affairs Conference (MPAC).

New Jobs and Promotions
  • Shannon Brower (MPA 2008) recently accepted a position as Executive Assistant and Grant Administrator for The Butler Foundation.
  • Madison Carter (MPA 2017) started as a Lead Clerk at the U.S. Census Bureau's National Processing Center.
  • Elishia Chamberlain (MPA 2008) is the new Executive Director of the Madisonville Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation. Madisonville is a neighborhood in the City of Cincinnati.
  • Bradley Dickerson is now the Residence Hall Director at Northern Kentucky University.
  • Bill Fischer (MPA 1999) recently started as Vice President of Community Development at The Port, which is an economic development agency that initiates projects to improve property values and promote job creation throughout Hamilton County.
  • Rhea Floyd (MPA 2018) is serving as the Experiential Learning Coordinator in the Department of Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Organizational Leadership, the department that houses the MPA program.
  • Rachel Heine (MPA 2007) was selected as the Director of Development for the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
  • John Hennessey is the new Assistant Director at the Lindner Career Services Center at the University of Cincinnati.
  • Dustin Lester (MPA 2011) is now a property manager at Cushman & Wakefield, which is one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the world, managing 3.6 billion square feet in 70 countries.
  • Brandi Mulligan (MPA student) accepted the position of a Success Coach at Gateway Community & Technical College.
  • Sonya Turner (MPA 2012, Nonprofit Management certificate 2007) was selected to serve as Associate Director of the University of Cincinnati Evaluation Services Center.
