Patent Cooperation Treaty Seminar
The NKU Chase Law + Informatics Institute, in cooperation with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), will host a Comprehensive Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Seminar on June 5-6, 2014 in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
The seminar will provide patent attorneys, patent agents, patent portfolio managers, paralegals and law students with a comprehensive understanding of the PCT, which is an international patent law treaty to unify the patent filing procedures to protect inventions in its contracting states.
The one and one-half day seminar will include patent portfolio management strategies for maximizing patent protection and minimizing legal expenses. The seminar will also include best practices, procedures for filing original patent applications in PCT member states, and recent changes to the PCT.
The featured speakers are Carol Bidwell and David Reed, US consultants to WIPO on PCT matters.
Kentucky and Ohio CLE credits (up to 10.75) can be applied for, and CLE credits for other states can be arranged upon request. Registration is $350, with a discounted rate of $250 for NKU Chase College of Law alumni and CincyIP members, and $50 for non-NKU students, non-NKU academics, and those NKU Chase College of Law alumni who graduated on or after 2010. Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch, and materials. Printed materials are available for $25.
